就这样,小兔这一家自由自在地开了下去,然而狐狸和狗熊的店谁也不想去了。

后来,一位国王住在这里国王想卖点东西。于是,他做了一个鱼竿。他每天都去钓鱼,他钓完了鱼,又去种菜。他种的有:胡萝卜、青菜、大白菜、土豆……他又把森林超市整理一遍。他等着他种的菜快点长,过两三个月,菜都出来了。他把菜都给挖出来,放在超市,然后把鱼放好,菜也放好。他又去捉点虫子,他想:啄木鸟一定爱吃虫子。虫子也放好了,就等开业了。
国王的超市开业了,许许多多的动物都来买东西。动物们有的说:“要不要钱?”国王说:“不要钱,你们可以天天去我开的森林超市买东西。”有小熊、小白兔、小灰兔、啄木鸟、老虎……一会儿它们都买完了,动物们都说:“谢谢!”国王说:“不客气。”这就是国王的森林超市。国王很开心,动物们也很开心。

在一个阳光明媚的早上,一个从英国来的.商人,进入了国王的宫殿。“您来干什么呢?”国王问。商人说:“我想要你们这里所有的树。”国王回答说:“不可能的,因为树是我们这里最重要的物资。”商人接着说:“如果你把你们的树都给我,我会给你很多的金子。”可是伟大的国王没有被金子诱惑,生气的把这位商人赶了出去,不许他踏入这个国家,并告诉他别再痴心妄想了。被赶出去的商人很愤怒的说:“我一定会让你们付出代价的。”
第二天早上,商人又偷偷的来到这个国家,他和士兵、村民们说:“国王的树下藏了很多珍贵的宝藏,你们去找找,这样你们也可以变成有钱人。”很快大家都知道了这个消息,原本团结的人们为了宝藏,听信了商人的谣言,就开始行动了起来,回家找了自己的工具,跑到每棵树下面挖土,寻找宝藏。不一会儿,这个国家的土地被大家挖的坑坑洼洼的。大树被放倒了,商人派自己手下把所有的大树都拉走了,国王看到了却没能阻止自己的士兵和村民。
万物复苏的春天来了,人们看到了自己的国家光秃秃的,小路到处坑坑洼洼,心里很是难过。这时,国王告诉大家:“这些树能给我们带来美好的环境,可以让我们国家很美丽,树是美化环境的。”大家都很后悔,听信商人的谎言,让自己美丽的国家变的惨不忍睹。
过了不久,有人听说英国有家“森林超市”,是用各种各样的树木搭建的,超市周围也都是用树木环绕着,非常美丽。
