Title: A Journey of Self-Discovery: My First Year in College
Good morning everyone,
My name is Emily and I am thrilled to stand here today to share with you my journey of self-discovery during my first year of college. As a freshman, I have encountered numerous challenges and opportunities that have shaped me into the person I am today.
First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude to my parents, teachers, and friends who have supported me throughout this journey. Without their encouragement and guidance, I would not have been able to overcome the obstacles I faced.
One of the biggest challenges I encountered during my first year in college was adapting to a new environment. Coming from a small town, I found the bustling city and the large campus overwhelming at first. However, I quickly learned to embrace the change and view it as an opportunity for personal growth. I joined various student organizations, such as the debating club and the volunteer group, which not only helped me meet new people but also allowed me to develop valuable skills such as teamwork and leadership.
In addition to adapting to a new environment, I also faced academic challenges. The workload was much heavier compared to high school, and the level of difficulty increased significantly. However, with the help of my professors, classmates, and study groups, I was able to overcome these challenges and achieve good grades. I learned the importance of time management and effective study strategies, which I believe will benefit me not only in college but also in my future career.
Moreover, college has provided me with numerous opportunities for personal and professional development. I have attended various seminars and workshops that have broadened my horizons and enhanced my knowledge in different fields. I have also had the chance to participate in internships and volunteer programs, which have allowed me to apply what I have learned in the classroom to real-life situations.
Lastly, my first year in college has taught me the importance of self-reflection and self-care. It is easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of college life, but it is crucial to take time for oneself. Whether it is spending time with friends and family, pursuing hobbies, or simply taking a walk in nature, these moments of self-care have helped me maintain a healthy balance between my academic and personal life.
In conclusion, my first year in college has been a journey of self-discovery. I have grown both academically and personally, and I am excited to continue this journey in the years to come. I am grateful for the challenges and opportunities I have encountered, as they have shaped me into a more resilient and determined individual. Thank you.

Title: Embracing Diversity: My First Year Experience in College
Good morning everyone,
My name is Michael, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share with you my experiences during my first year in college. Over the past year, I have learned the importance of embracing diversity and the value it brings to our lives.
To begin with, college has exposed me to a diverse range of cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives. Coming from a small town where everyone shared similar experiences and beliefs, this was a significant change for me. However, I quickly realized that diversity is not something to be feared but rather embraced. It is through interacting with individuals from different backgrounds that we can expand our horizons, challenge our preconceived notions, and foster a greater understanding and appreciation for one another.
In addition to cultural diversity, I have also encountered a wide range of academic and intellectual diversity. College is a place where students with varying passions and interests come together to pursue their dreams. I have had the privilege of studying alongside individuals who are passionate about science, arts, business, and many other fields. This diversity of knowledge and expertise has enriched my own learning experience and inspired me to explore new areas of interest.
Furthermore, college has provided me with numerous opportunities to engage in meaningful discussions and debates. The classroom environment encourages students to express their opinions and engage in respectful dialogue. This has allowed me to broaden my perspectives and challenge my own beliefs. Through these discussions, I have learned to appreciate different viewpoints and understand that there is often more than one way to approach a problem or issue.
Moreover, college has taught me the importance of collaboration and teamwork. Through group projects and extracurricular activities, I have had the opportunity to work with individuals from different backgrounds and disciplines. This diversity of skills and perspectives has not only enhanced the quality of our work but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and mutual respect. I have learned that by embracing diversity and leveraging our collective strengths, we can achieve far more than we could on our own.
In conclusion, my first year in college has been a transformative experience. I have learned to embrace diversity in all its forms and appreciate the value it brings to our lives. Whether it be cultural diversity, intellectual diversity, or diversity of skills, I believe that it is through embracing our differences that we can foster a more inclusive and harmonious society. I am grateful for the opportunities and experiences that college has provided me and look forward to continuing my journey of embracing diversity in the years to come. Thank you.

Facing this audience on the stage, I he the exciting feeling of participating in the march of history, for what we are facing today is more than a mere petition or contest。 It is an assembly of some of China's most talented and motivated people, representatives of a younger generation that are preparing themselves for the ing of a new century。
I'm grateful that I've been given this opportunity, at such a historic moment, to stand here as a spokesman of my generation and to take a serious look back at the past 15 years, a crucial period for every one of us and for this nation as well。
Though it is only within my power to tell about my personal experience, and only a tiny fragment of it at that, it still represents, I believe, the root of a spirit which has been essential to me and to all the people bred by the past 15 years。
In my elementary years, there was a little girl in the class who worked very hard but somehow could never do satisfactorily in her lessons。
The teacher asked me to help her, and it was obvious that she expected a lot from me。 but as a young boy, restless, thoughtless, I always tried to evade her so as to get more time to enjoy myself。
One day before the final exam, she came up to me and said, "Could you please explain this to me? I want very much to do better this time。 " I started explaining, and finished in a hurry。 Pretending not to notice her still confused eyes, I ran off quickly。 Nat surprisingly, she again did very badly in the exam。 And two months later, at the beginning of the new semester, word came of her death of blood cancer。 No one ever knew about the little task I failed to fulfill, but I couldn't five myself。 I simply couldn't fet her eyes, which seem to be asking, "Why didn't you do a little more to help me, when it was so easy for you? Why didn't you understand a little better the trust placed in you, so that I would not he to lee this world in such pain and regret?"
I was about eight or nine years old at that time, but in a way it was the very starting point of my life, for I began to understand the word "responsibility" and to learn to always do my duties faithfully and devotedly, for the implications of that sacred word has dawned on me: the mutual need and trust of people, the co-operation and inter-reliance which are the very foundation of human society。
Later in my life, I continued to experience many failures。 But never again did I feel that regret which struck me at the death of the girl, for it makes my heart satisfied to think that I he always done everything in my power to fulfill my responsibilities as best I can。
As I grew up, changed and improved by this incident and many other similar ones, I began to perceive the changes taking place around me and to find that society, in a way, was in its formative years like myself。 New buildings, new modities and new fashions appear every day。

Karamay Experimental Middle School Luo Jintao
Good afternoon, my dear friends and the honorable judges。
I’m very glad to be here and give you my speech。 I hope we all can enjoy the time。 Now, today my topic is: “A Small Truth to Make Life 100%”。
As a young English teacher, I he to face different kinds of students and deal with trivial things every day。 Life goes on, but sometimes it’s being frustrating and I feel very tired。 How to make my life bee better? I’m always seeking for the answer。 Fortunately, when I read a magazine one day, I found the truth to make my life 100%。 Today I would like to share it with you。
Now, my dear friends, let’s do an interesting test together and then you will find the secret by yourself! As we all know, there are 26 alphabets in English, A to Z。 Against them we he the numbers 1% to 26%。 If A is equal to 1%, and B to 2%, and so on, until Z is equal to 26%, then can you guess what can make our life 100%? That is to say, what can make our life perfect?
Some of you may suggest “Money”。 However, after calculating, you’ll find it only es to 72%。 Now try a few more。 Knowledge? Yes, knowledge is power! But this time it only es to 96%。 How about love? That only shows at 54%。 Luck does even worse, only at 47%。 Though most of us think this is the most important。
Then what makes 100%? Hard Work? Closer, 98%。 But not exact。 Now, what on earth can make life 100%? Well, every problem has a solution, only if we perhaps change our attitude。 Yes! Only ATTITUDE es out at 100%。
Many of the gifts we he been given he been distributed unfairly。 We all wish we had the ability of the talented, the money of the rich, and the luck of the beautiful。 But none of these matter。 There is only one thing we all he equally and can always control even in the worst situations。 And that is our attitude。
Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it。 Therefore, attitude is the thing that shapes who you are the most。
Attitude is everything。 Now, my dear friends, please give the world a sunshine smile。 Change your attitude and enjoy every minute in your life。
That’s all。 Thank you!
