Title: The Impact of Social Media on Adolescent Mental Health: A Systematic Review
Abstract:
Objective: This systematic review aims to explore the impact of social media on the mental health of adolescents.
Methods: A comprehensive search was conducted in multiple electronic databases to identify relevant studies. The inclusion criteria were studies published in English between 2010 and 2020, focusing on the association between social media use and mental health outcomes in adolescents. A total of 25 studies were included in the final analysis.
Results: The findings suggest that excessive use of social media is associated with a higher risk of developing mental health issues among adolescents. The most commonly reported mental health problems included depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. The use of social media platforms such as Instagram and Snapchat, which emphasize appearance and popularity, was particularly associated with negative mental health outcomes. However, the impact of social media on mental health varied across different demographic groups and individual characteristics. Factors such as gender, age, and pre-existing mental health conditions were found to moderate the relationship between social media use and mental health outcomes.
Conclusion: This systematic review provides evidence supporting the association between social media use and negative mental health outcomes in adolescents. The findings highlight the importance of promoting healthy social media use and developing targeted interventions to mitigate the potential negative effects on adolescent mental health. Future research should focus on identifying protective factors and effective strategies for promoting positive mental health in the digital age.

Title: The Effects of Exercise on Cognitive Function in Older Adults: A Meta-analysis
Abstract:
Objective: This meta-analysis aims to examine the effects of exercise on cognitive function in older adults.
Methods: A systematic search was conducted in multiple electronic databases to identify relevant studies. The inclusion criteria were randomized controlled trials published in English between 2000 and 2020, focusing on the effects of exercise interventions on cognitive function in adults aged 60 and above. A total of 30 studies were included in the meta-analysis.
Results: The results of the meta-analysis indicate that exercise interventions have a positive effect on cognitive function in older adults. Overall, exercise was found to improve various domains of cognitive function, including attention, memory, and executive function. Both aerobic exercise and resistance training were effective in enhancing cognitive function, although aerobic exercise showed a slightly stronger effect. The duration and intensity of exercise were found to moderate the relationship between exercise and cognitive function, with longer and more intense exercise sessions yielding greater cognitive benefits.
Conclusion: This meta-analysis provides evidence supporting the positive effects of exercise on cognitive function in older adults. The findings suggest that exercise interventions could be an effective strategy for promoting healthy cognitive aging. Future research should focus on identifying the optimal exercise prescription and exploring the underlying mechanisms through which exercise influences cognitive function in older adults.
